Obituary of Steven Albert King
Steven Albert King, age 71, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength and family that will be cherished forever.
Steven was a devoted father to Jason (Tanya) King, and Mark (Annie) King whose lives he shaped with his guidance, humour and unwavering support. He was a proud grandfather to Montana, Marshall, Hannah, Griffan, Mason, Taylor, Lily, Peyton, Colton and Addison each of whom held a special place in his heart. Steven was also a proud great-grandfather, a title he wore with immense joy as he continued to watch his family grow.
He is survived by his beloved sisters Adelene (Jim) McCord and Erma (Bill) Pretty who will remember him always for his kindness and the bond they shared. He is predeceased by his brother William King and his sister Carmel (Don) Wakeling who welcomed him home with love. He will be greatly missed by all his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Steven devoted a significant portion of his life to Hydro One, where he built lasting friendships, took immense pride in his work and contributed many dedicated years to keeping communities connected and supported. His commitment and strong work ethic were known and respected by all who worked alongside him.
Beyond his work, one of Steven’s greatest joys was spending time in Tatlock, a place he cherished deeply. Whether he was cutting logs, running equipment, or simply taking in the stillness of the off-grid life, Tatlock gave him a sense of peace that few places could. It was where he was happiest doing the things he loved with the independence he valued.
Known for his gentle spirit, steady presence and the way he could make anyone feel welcome, Steven touched many lives. He will be remembered for the stories he told, the wisdom he shared, the laughter he brought and the love he gave so freely.
Stevens’ legacy lives on in the family he adored and the memories they will carry forward with love. He will be deeply missed and forever held close in the hearts of all who knew him.
