Obituary of Arnold Raymond Baker

Baker, Arnold “Arnie” Raymond
August 26, 1952 – December 10, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Arnold “Arnie” Raymond Baker on December 10, 2025. Born on August 26, 1952, Arnold devoted his life to his family, his work, and his community.

Arnold was married to the love of his life Debbie, for 55 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering support. He was a cherished father to Edward (Victoria) and Nicole, a loving Papa to nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom were the pride of his life.

For more than 47 years, Arnold worked with M. Sullivan & Son Limited, where he was respected for his dedication, work ethic, and willingness to lend a hand. Arnold was known for his kindness, his steady presence, and his readiness to help anyone in need.

He found joy in hunting, fishing, and tinkering in his garage, but above all else, Arnold treasured time spent with his family. His warmth, humour, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by many.

Arnold is survived by his siblings Nancy (late Glen), Margaret (Ed), Joanne (Morley), Wilfred (Liz), Doug, Cliff (Angie), and Dave (Tammy), and is predeceased by his brother Kevin (Tanya).  He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored him, each carrying fond memories of his warmth and humour. He will also be lovingly remembered by many close friends and extended family members.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the ALS team in Ottawa, Dr. Kennie, the nurses at Perth Hospital, the compassionate care partners from GEM Homecare and the many special friends and family who supported Arnold over the past year. Your compassion and care will never be forgotten.

His passing has left a void in the heart of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him, not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. In honour of Arnold’s memory, memorial contributions to ALS would be appreciated.

All are welcome to join the celebration of Arnold’s life at the Civitan Club of Perth, 6787 County Rd. 43, Perth on Saturday, April 18th, 2026 from 1:00pm – 5:00pm.
