Obituary of Edna Olive Elva Bradette (née Taman)
Our sweet and loving Edna passed away on December 30th, 2025 at the age of 88, surrounded by family. Edna was the devoted wife of André Bradette for sixty-five years before his passing in 2022. She was a loving sister to Alice (Lloyd) Vezina, Helen (Gerry) Clement, and Muriel Taman, as well to her predeceased siblings William “Bim” Taman, Lloyd (Olga) Taman, Barbara (Réjean) Lauzon, and Jean (Bob) Sheedy.
Edna was a dedicated mother to Diane Thurston, Denis, Paul, as well as Patricia who passed away in 2018. Her heart and door were always open to her children's friends too, whom she cared for like they were her own.
She adored and spoiled her grandchildren Alyssa, Kyle, Samantha, Troy, Tyson, Destiny, and Cherysh, and her great-grandchildren Marek (who she called her boyfriend!), Quinn, Evelyn, Corina and Maverick.
Our beloved Edna was an Energizer bunny who scooted around constantly ensuring that everyone around her was taken care of, and had food in front of them. When she wasn’t caregiving, she was reading, curling, playing baseball, golfing, laughing and shopping with her Golden Girls (Sue, Hélène and Réjeanne), drinking coffee with friends at Tim’s, cheering on the Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays, and spending time with family and friends at the farm on beautiful Dunn’s Lake where she grew up. Edna also loved to sew, and was a talented seamstress. She volunteered in the community that she adored. Cochrane and its people were one of the great loves of her life.
We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the care provided by the staff at Lanark Lodge in the Maple wing. Their kindness and support not only for Edna, but for us too, were truly exceptional.
A celebration of life will be held in Cochrane in the summer of 2026. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth.
