
Obituary of Deborah Anne Frances Shea
It is with great sadness and shock that we announce the tragic passing of Debbie on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025. Loving and devoted mother of Tori Shea of Saint John, NB and Carter Shea (Caitlin Aldridge) of Ottawa, Ont. Dearly missed by her treasured and supportive sister Mary Yellen (Dave Boldt). Predeceased by her loving parents Hobart (Hobie) and Margaret (McDonald) Yellen. She will be greatly missed by many loyal friends, neighbours and co-workers as well as a long list of extended family members within the Yellen, McDonald and Shea families. Her loyal dog McGwire will be her shepherd in her final journey. In addition to her dedication as a mother and wife, she was a passionate community volunteer and lent her talents to numerous worthy causes in her lifelong community of Smiths Falls, Ontario. Her contributions include but are not limited to youth sports, the Catholic Church, her children’s education, community safety, political campaigns, and the many fundraising initiatives she both gave to and orchestrated. Friends and family may pay their respects at Blair and Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith St. N in Smiths Falls, Ontario, on Friday, January 9th, 2026 between 5-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10th, 2026 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church,17 Elmsley St. N, Smiths Falls, Ontario, at 11am. A reception at Hanley Hall, adjacent to the church, will follow her interment at St. Francis Cemetery. In honouring her caring nature, donations may be made to Lanark County Interval House, St. Francis de Sales Church Wednesday Lunch Program, or a local, youth sports organization of your choice.
