Peacefully at the Perth Site of the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital, Frances passed away on January 2nd, 2026 at the age of 83. She was the beloved wife of the late Bruce Strader and the devoted mother of Philip Strader (Melissa) and Hilary Machan (Blair). Cherished grandmother of Clara and Anna Strader and Georgia, Harrison and Samuel Machan. Frances was the dear sister of Joan Gall, and Allen Best (Carol). She is predeceased by her parents Stanley Best and Myrtle (nee Griffith), and by her brother Kenny Best. Frances was a Registered Nurse, a proud graduate of the Brockville General Hospital nursing program. Frances was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years, spending the majority of her career at the Perth & Smiths Falls Hospital. The joy of Frances's life was her family, especially her five grandchildren.
 
A celebration of Frances’ life will be held at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth on Saturday, January 10th, 2026 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm. In honour of her, memorial contributions to the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
