Obituary of Brad Edmunds
Edmunds, Brad
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Brad Edmunds at home on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the age of 64.
Brad was the beloved husband of Lynne Gillies, cherished uncle of Michael Helmer (Dani) and Kalynn Helmer, and brother-in-law of Karen Spinney and Greg Spinney (Yuri).
Brad will be fondly remembered by his sisters, Terry (Brent) and Kathy (Brian), and his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Stanley, parents John and Marjorie Edmunds, and his in-laws Jim and Gaye Spinney.
Brad was the owner/operator of the Smiths Falls Speedy Glass for 22 years. Through his work, Brad was known to many in the community. He will be remembered for his pride in his work and his willingness to lend a hand. Lynne and Brad retired in December 2022, after which they spent the next years putting over 30,000 kilometres on their fifth wheel travelling across Canada together.
It is impossible to sum up a man in so few words, but those of us that knew him will know how much he loved the Ottawa Senators, a dedicated fan that was just as loud at home as he was in the stands. His delight in meeting his friends each morning for his Tim Horton’s coffee. His absolute joy in spending time with his wife, dog (Yuma) and family. Be it at the family cottage in New Brunswick, a campground or home, Brad was our biggest fan, our steadiest rock, and our grumpiest protector.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith St. N., in Smiths Falls. A private family interment will take place in New Brunswick at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to one of Brad’s chosen causes:
