
Obituary of Audrey Angelina Macdonald
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Audrey Macdonald. After a brief illness, Audrey passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.
Audrey was the first born of eleven children to the late Harry and Elsie Burns, (nee Kelford).
Audrey is survived by her loving husband Dale, of 68 years, daughters, Carol Kassis, Bonnie Stead and daughter- in-law Judy Macdonald. Audrey was predeceased by her daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Bob Gunn, and son Doug.
Audrey truly loved interacting with all her 10 grandchildren & 21 great grandchildren, as often as she could. Along with all her many nieces, nephews and cousins of which there were many.
Audrey was dearly loved by her sister Alice (Lewis), and her brothers Allan and (late Sandra) Burns, Gordon and Norma Burns and sister in-laws, Betty and Shelley Burns. Predeceased by Dorothy and Donald, (Fleming), Bill, (Betty) Burns, Ruth and Lorne Jones, Raymond and Ann Burns and Lorraine Crotty, David and Linda Burns and Howard (Shelley) Burns.
Audrey worked as a maternity nurse for 35 years helping to bring in 100s of babies including all of her own grandchildren. Audrey always went above and beyond the call when it came to her patients care.
Visitation will be at Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth, on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A service will be held at the Free Methodist Church 144 Gore St E. Perth on Saturday, January 17th, 2026 at 11:00am with a reception to follow in the back hall. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Asbury Free Methodist Church, Perth or to the Silver Lake Wesleyan Camp, Maberly, On.
