Obituary of Chris MacDonald

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Christopher MacDonald at the age of 40 (born February 28, 1985). Christopher passed away on Saturday, January 10th at the Perth Hospital surrounded by love, after a long fought courageous battle with cancer. Chris was a devoted brother and family member who deeply loved his family and was, in return, loved beyond measure by them. His bright smile and joking attitude could light up any room, and he had a gift for making people laugh and feel at ease. 

Left to mourn his loss, his loving mother Cathy (ne. Crawford) MacDonald, his sister Katie (Peter) MacDonald, and his nephew Brayden Barr. Cherished nephew to Nancy Crawford, Carm (Howie) McConnell, John Crawford, Bill (Lynn) Crawford, Jim (Amy) Crawford, Patsy Cole, and his devoted Grandfather Bill Quinn. Predeceased by his father Keith MacDonald, his grandparents Jack (Myrtle) Crawford, and Anna Quinn. Chris will be missed greatly by all his cousins who he was very close to.  

Chris had a lifelong love of comic books and found real joy in attending Comic Con, where he could fully embrace his passions. He worked as a server, a role that suited his friendly nature and easygoing personality, and he was known for treating everyone with kindness and warmth. 

Chris will be remembered for his humor, his generous heart, and the love he shared so freely with those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever held close in the hearts of his family and friends.  

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2026. For those wishing, memorial donations would be appreciated by the family to Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital - Perth Site.
