Obituary of Candice Leigh Hann
It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Candice Leigh Hann at the age of 36. Candice departed us peacefully in her sleep on Thursday January 22, 2026. Candice was special needs suffered from a rare neurological disorder known as Leukodystrophy. In the final years of her life she was wheelchair-bound, and her illness progressively took away control of most of her bodily functions, yet Candice never lost her dignity or her fighting spirit. Candice was alert to the very end, was still smiling and wanted nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. Candice had hugs and love for everybody. There wasn’t an ounce of hate in her.
Candice was the cherished daughter to Angela Gagne (Glen Gobel), and Theodore Hann (Suzanne Lanthier). She was the beloved sister to Daniel Hann and Allie Hann (Michael Coreno), and will be sadly missed by her her nieces, Giorgia and Gioia. Left to mourn her loss are her grandparents, Roger and Theresa Gagne, her step mother, Penny Arsenault, her, step father Larry McCurdy (Heather Darcy) and her step sisters, Kristin McInnis (and Family) and Meagan McCurdy. Candice was a beautiful soul who touched the lives of many and will be missed by her many cousins, extended family and friends.
Candice had a lifelong love for Dora the Explorer and in her final years, Elsa from the movie Frozen. Candice loved watching and singing along with the Frozen movies. She looked forward to attending Frozen on Ice anytime it was in town. She found joy in going to hockey games and cheering on the Sens, except when the Leafs were playing.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the management at Tayside Community Support and to all of the staff at the Davidson House group home on Wayside Drive in Perth, where Candice spent the final 10 years of her life. The attention and care she received was beyond reproach and was the contributing factor to Candice surviving as long as she did.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2026. For those wishing, donations in memory of Candace would be appreciated to the Tayside Community Residential and Support Options or to the Davidson House.
