Obituary of Michael Joseph Ouellette
Michael passed into the arms of his Lord and Saviour surrounded by love at his brother’s home, February 1, 2026. He courageously battled metastatic gastric cancer following his diagnosis in early January. Michael was a devoted son to his late parent’s, Marcel and Nellie (Lashwood) Ouellette. His eldest sibling Rosalie passed at the tender age of 4 from pneumonia. He is survived by his older brother John (late Maxine) a retired Marine veteran residing in Greenville, North Carolina and his brother Roger (Donna) lives in Lombardy.
Michael will be remembered for being a quiet gentle soul. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. It was an honour for Roger and Donna to care for Michael as he embarked upon his final journey home. Scripture reminds us, He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will take refuge (Psalm 91:4) This imagery emphasizes God's faithfulness and care for those who put their trust in Him.
Family and friends are invited to attend Michael’s Celebration of Life Service at the Smiths Falls First Baptist Church, 73 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls, Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11am. The family will greet guests at the luncheon held immediately afterwards in the Ward Hall. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to share a tribute in Michael’s honour are asked to consider a donation in support of 2 charities near and dear to the Ouellette family, your local Food Bank or your local Salvation Army. You are kindly requested to ask the charity to notify Blair and Son Funeral Home of your donation to forward the notification to Mike’s family.
