February 7th, 1951 – February 3rd, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hugh Adams McDougall on February 3rd, 2026, at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Hugh was the beloved husband of Joan McDougall (nee Mahon) for 47 years. He was a loving father to Sarah and Freddie (Gina), and a cherished grandpa to Mickey and Rockwell McDougall. Hugh will be fondly remembered for his loyalty, his deep commitment to family, and his fun-loving, passionate spirit. He took great pride in those he loved and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Hugh was a proud fourth generation Perthite. His favourite place was Otty Lake. He spent summers at the family cottage in the 50s and built a year-round home on the water in 1988. He loved boating, fishing, and partying with fellow Otty Lakers. He retired with 30+ years at the Bank of Montreal (BMO). Hugh will be dearly missed and forever cherished by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Adams McDougall, his grandparents Fred and Grace Adams. His sister-in-law Donna (George) Stott and mother and father-in-law Mike and Jean Mahon.  Hugh will be lovingly remembered by his brother- and sisters-in-law: Karen (Rick) Neil, Danny Mahon, Charlie (Linda) Mahon, and Nancy Mahon, as well as his American cousins, the Kavney/Norris family.

A Celebration of Life and sharing of memories will be held in the Family Centre of the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Thursday February 12th, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM  Donations in Hugh’s memory may be made to the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital (Perth Site).
