Hermer, James “Jim”

Peacefully at Broadview Nursing Home on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at the age of 94.  Beloved husband of Rose (nee Sinclair) Hermer and predeceased by his first wife Bernice (nee Bates) Hermer in 1999.  Much loved step-father of Charlene Catchpole and her children KC and Marissa and Charles Catchpole (Germaine) and lovingly remembered by family friend Cassandra Toussaint.  Jim was predeceased by his parents Howard and Jennie (Kirkwood) Hermer and was the oldest surviving sibling being predeceased by Bob (Ruth), Yvonne (Roland), Myrtle (Jack), Grace (John), Ernie (Fran) and Theresa (Bob).  Jim will be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Family and friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. until service in the chapel 11:00 a.m.  Interment, Maple Vale Cemetery followed by a reception in the Blair & Son Reception Centre.  In memory of Jim, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Broadview Nursing Centre Residents’ Activity Fund would be appreciated.
