Obituary of Edie Cordick

Edie Ann Cordick passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, her hand held by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, James (Jim). Edie passed also feeling the loving touch of her dear children and her faithful brother Gerry, alongside niece, Kathy.

Edie, born July 5, 1951, was raised with love and care by her parents Ken and Elizabeth Kehoe in Drummond Centre, where she enjoyed life on the farm alongside her siblings Gerry (Gloria), Jim (Nancy) and Colleen. Her childhood was spent riding horses and working side by side with family. Later in life, she often shared fond memories of her days in the one room schoolhouse.

Moving into the town of Perth in later childhood, she met her first and only love, who lived around the corner from her family home on Brock Street.  Jim and Edie married June 9th, 1973, later moving to Glen Tay to raise their family.

A loving caregiver, Edie spent many years operating a home day care, where she supported many families in raising happy, loved and treasured children.

Alongside Jim, her family grew from her adored children, Christine (Robert Rodine) and Jason (Sarah Hannah) to include her four grandsons: Logan, Noah, Evan and Gage.

While her compassion and generosity of heart were always visible in the way that Edie cared of others, including her devoted attention to her late mother, her legacy of love will always be felt in the way she cherished her grandsons.

Edie always worked to make others feel thought of; considered. The cards she sent, phone calls she made and hugs she offered gave comfort and warmth, often at the most needed times. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.

In Edie’s next chapter, she will be reunited with her loving parents and her infant son Baby James, though lovingly missed by those she leaves behind, including Brother in-law Teddy Cordick  and  wife Norma (Lark), Maureen Cordick ( Anderson) and Nancy Cordick (Carroll)  along with many nieces and nephews as well as dear friends, whom she shared many card nights, dances and endless fun.

She is predeceased by her brothers and sister in- laws John  and  Gerry  Cordick, and Noreen Timmins (Cordick).

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore Street West, Perth, on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at the St. John Roman Catholic Church on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 10AM, with interment to follow at St. John’s Parish Cemetery.
