Obituary of Muriel Nellie Chenard

Passed away peacefully at the Perth Hospital. Predeceased by her husband of 59 and a half years, Edmond Chenard, who, together with Connor and Kyle, will welcome her in heaven.

Muriel was fiercely proud of and deeply loved her family; children Tony (Dawn), Jocelyn (Barry) & Cynthia; grandchildren Ryan (Stephanie), Ally and their mom Cathy, Logan (Sara), Jack and Damian, and her great grandchildren Levi, Bowie and Lenni.

Muriel cherished and was grateful for many others in her life including her sister Jeanette (Ronald), Lynne & Mark, Pat & Dennis, Eileen, Lisette, Wendy, Monique, the Sunday Brunch gang, and all her extended family in British Columbia.

She’ll be fondly remembered for her pig collection, her homemade bread, her love of crocheting, shopping and the Ottawa Senators. Mom was a kind and generous soul.

Her family wish to extend sincere thanks to the Emergency Department and 3rd floor staff at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital, Perth Site for their gentle, kind, and compassionate care.

A funeral mass will be held at the St. John Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 2PM. A reception will be held at the Blair and Son Funeral Home, Perth, following the funeral mass for those wishing to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Muriel to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
