Obituary of Robert Gerald Baker

Surrounded by his loving and devoted family at Smiths Falls Hospital on Friday, March 20, 2026, Gerry passed away peacefully at the age of 87.

He was the cherished husband of Josephine for 67 wonderful years, and the beloved father of Donnie (June), Stephen (Amy), Maureen (Peter), Darin, Richard (Debbie), and Bobbi Jo (John).

Gerry will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Amanda, Joe, Kaylea (Matt), Corey, Stephanie (Josh), Kevin, Dylan, Kurtis (Sarah), Nicolas, Alexa (Matt), and Lydia (Curtis). He also leaves behind his adored great-grandchildren, James, Henry, Levi, Elliott, Isabel, Ava, Mabel, and Elaina.

Gerry was a man whose hands were rarely still. A devoted family man, he worked tirelessly to provide for those he loved, dedicating 35 years of service to Rideau Regional. Even in retirement, his strong work ethic never faded. Alongside his beloved Josie, he built a successful antique and restoration business, all while caring for their cherished hobby farm.

Despite a lifetime of hard work, Gerry always made time for his family. He created lasting memories through summer picnics at Mississippi Lake, backyard skating rinks, and snowmobile rides in the winter. His patience, kindness, and unwavering love were constants in our lives, and there will never be any doubt how deeply he loved us.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gerry’s life from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26^th at the Franktown Centennial Hall, 152 Church St., Franktown, Ontario.
