Obituary of Brian Booth
BOOTH, Brian Lawrence
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Brian Booth, age 60 at the Ottawa General Hospital on March 25, 2026, from complications related to a blood clot.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Brenda (Davies) Booth (m: 2006-2026), and was pre-deceased by his first wife, Lori (Visser) Booth (m: 1994-2004). Both Brenda and Lori cherished him deeply.
Brian was born in Coral Gables, Florida, to his late parents, Greg and Sari Booth. He will be greatly missed by his sister, Dianne van der Reyden and brother-in-law, Guillo Mata (Virginia), as well as his brother, Carson Booth, his niece, Stella (Berlin, Germany), and his brother-in-law, David Guzo (Pennsylvania). He was pre-deceased by his sister, Susan Guzo in 2025.
He also leaves behind Marc, Tammy, and Taylor Visser, along with the large Visser clan who welcomed him to Canada 32 years ago, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and members of the Davies family. Deepest gratitude to David Davies and LeeAnn Lyons for their strong support during this difficult time.
Brian graduated with Honors from the DeVry Institute of Technology (AAS Electronics) in Phoenix, Arizona. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, California, and in Okinawa, Japan. He saw duty on the USS Tarawa and participated in the humanitarian efforts following the Bangladesh tsunami. He joined Nortel Networks in Ottawa as a PBX Technician in 1998, then became an employee of TELUS Corporation in 2001, and was assigned as the on-site technician at the Royal Ottawa Hospital. He only recently retired from TELUS, after 25 years of dedicated service and was looking forward to a life of fun and leisure.
Brian enjoyed boating, being in nature, and other healthy pursuits. He was decent beyond measure and he’ll be greatly missed.
In keeping with his wishes, no funeral service will be held. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Thrombosis Canada at https://thrombosiscanada.ca/ or another charity of your choice. You are encouraged to visit their website to learn about the signs and symptoms of blood clots. Arrangements are entrusted to Blair and Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls.
