Obituary of Sherry Tysick-Polmateer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sherry Marie Tysick-Polmateer, who passed away on March 30, 2026, in Kingston, Ontario.

Sherry was the beloved wife of Leslie (Les) Polmateer. She was a devoted and loving mother to Justin (Alysha) and Rebecca Slute, the admired stepmom to Justin Polmateer (Abbi Woods) and the proud and cherished grandmother to Grayson. She was predeceased by her brother Brian, and by her parents, Ross and Marie Tysick. Sherry is also survived by her former husband, Leon Slute. She will be deeply missed by her extended Miller and Tysick families, as well as by her many friends.

Throughout her professional life, Sherry was a dedicated Personal Support Worker, spending the majority of her career caring for others at the Centennial Manor in Bancroft. She took great pride in her work and made a lasting impact on those she cared for and worked alongside.

Sherry will be remembered for her loving heart, her caring nature, and her strong work ethic. Her kindness and compassion touched many lives, and she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore Street West, Perth, on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would  be appreciated by the family in honour of Sherry.
