Obituary of Deborah Anne McNaughtan

McNaughtan, Deborah Anne

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Deborah Anne (Debbie) McNaughtan, who left us suddenly at her home in Perth, Ontario on Monday April 13, 2026. Beloved Life Partner and best friend of Scott Martin, dear mother of Logan and John, both of Cornwall, and grandmother of Charlie, Reid, and Carter. Deborah is survived by sisters Myrna, Morag (Peter Conway), Pamela, Alison and Audrey, as well as Scott’s siblings, Stuart, Stephen, Sharon, and Shelley, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, late Duncan McNaughtan and late Anne McNaughtan (nee MacKenzie), and her brother Gordon. Debbie grew up on a farm near Dalhousie Station, Quebec. She moved to Ottawa for work, later to Cornwall, and lastly Perth. She had a natural gift connecting with people and valued their friendship and presence in her life. Those who knew her will remember her warmth, cheeky sense of humour, and generosity. Debbie’s early career was in nursing in Ottawa. Later she remained active in her community helping others navigate their journey. She was a foodie, loved dining at her favourite restaurants in Perth, enjoyed cooking and gardening. A spiritual soul, she found beauty in small wonders and a special joy in dragonflies. She loved music, old movies, and conversation. She cherished her friends and family, and took great joy in gatherings at the family farm.

Per family wishes, internment and private celebration of Deborah’s life will take place at a later date. In memoriam, if you wish, donations may be made to Heart & Stroke Canada or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth andcondolences may be made online at www.blairandson.com

Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me

I want no rites in a gloom-filled room

Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not for long

And not with your head bowed low

Remember the love that once we shared

Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take

And each must go alone.

It's all part of the master plan

A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart

Go to the friends we know.

Laugh at all the things we used to do

Miss me, but let me go.
