Obituary of Neville De Pass
Neville passed away peacefully in his sleep eight days short of his 95th birthday, with Julie, his wife of 60 years, at his side. He is survived by Julie, son Mark and his wife Nong, daughter Ceri and her husband Dan, and his grandchildren Gwyneth and Rhys (Lovell) and Cassidy and Avalynn (DePass), and his brother in Calgary, Tony DePass.
Neville and Julie met in Yellowknife in 1964, and lived in Wetaskiwin, Alberta at the beginning of their marriage, followed by three years in Jamaica, where they made lifelong friends. Neville’s career was with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. From 1971 he was in the head office in Toronto, Ontario, until his retirement. In 2015 he and Julie moved to Perth, Ontario.
Neville loved canoeing, camping, hiking, golf, orienteering, tying flies for fly fishing, and watching the birds. He loved being outdoors. Neville was a great traveler and visited many parts of the world. In his quieter moments, he found joy in reading, crossword puzzles, and classical music. He was very much loved by his family and friends.
There will be a celebration of Neville’s full and very active life in the summer. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth.
