Obituary of Audrey Lewella Blair
Audrey Lewella Blair passed away at Perth Hospital on May 2, 2026, at the age of 90.
Audrey was the beloved wife of Allen Blair, with whom she shared 62 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2017. She was a devoted mother to Gregory (Summer) and the proud grandmother to Justin (Drea) and Nicolas (Liz) Blair. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings: Barb McKinnon (the late Elwin), Jim McCord (Adelene), and Judy Wheeler (Vernon), as well as her sister-in-law Alice Lawler (the late David). Audrey was predeceased by her cherished parents, Gladys and Milton McCord; her brother, Elmer McCord; her sister, Evelyn Wright (Glen); her sisters- and brothers-in- law Mary Arnott (Alex), John Blair (Loraine), and Evelyn Kerr; and her "foster mother”, Edna Lebaron. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Audrey devoted over three decades to teaching —32 years, 6 months, and 19 days in total—an exact figure that perfectly captures her attention to detail and steadfast commitment to her students. She touched the lives of countless children, and her former students always held a special place in her heart. Beyond her teaching career, Audrey was a faithful volunteer at Lanark Lodge, giving generously of her time and talents. Her hands were rarely still; the beautiful afghans, sweaters, hats, and mitts she created will be cherished by those who received them. An
avid knitter, she lovingly made and donated more than 100 hats to the Cancer Society, reflecting her quiet generosity and care for others.
Audrey was also musically talented and found joy in playing the piano and organ, continuing to play in retirement. She will be remembered as a lady to the end—always impeccably dressed, with a flair for style, fiercely independent, strong-willed, and deeply devoted to her family and community.
Audrey has taken her final journey to her heavenly home, where she was welcomed and now awaits those who love her.
