Obituary of Donald Allan Foster

— Beloved husband and companion —

Don passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife, Tessa, in the early hours of Wednesday April 29, 2026, at age 68 in Perth, Ontario.  He will be remembered always, and loved forever.

Born in Orillia, Don grew up with a quick laugh, an insatiable curiosity, along with a knack for fixing anything that needed fixing.  Don worked for the Canada Post Corporation at various post offices before finally retiring in Aurora after a 37-year career.  He met Tessa (Teresa) through a friend in 1977; they started dating in 1979 and were married in 1983 for over 43 years.  They built a life grounded in love and kindness, unwavering support for each other, and a joy of loving life together.

As a husband, Don was Tessa’s partner in every sense — the love of her life, her confidant, and her best friend always.

Don was a man of simple but deep pleasures:  enjoying all the different places and countries he travelled, holding hands with Tessa when walking the dogs or playing a challenging round of cards with friends that always ended in laughter.  He was a naturally gifted athlete who excelled at archery, table tennis and golf.  He had an incredibly generous heart and was always the first to lend a hand.

Don will always be remembered for his warmth, his witty and mischievous humour, and for facing his pancreatic cancer with strength and grace.  

A special thank you to Don’s closest friends and neighbours for the love, support and caring that was given over the past year.

All are invited to join for a celebration of Don’s life at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth on Thursday May 14, 2026 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. In honour of Don, memorial contributions to the Lanark Animal Welfare Society (L.A.W.S) would be greatly appreciated.
