Bill was a great friend. He had the kindest heart. When I was a young girl working at Woolworths a young teenage girl was brutally murdered in town and until the police had the killer in custody Bill made it his job to take me to and from work even though I lived only 4 blocks away. That gave my mom peace of mind because it was just the two of us at the time. He also helped me to improve my bowling scores and later in life he coached my two sons at Grattan Lanes. Condolences to those left to mourn.
