Barry Wayne Best
November 28, 1955 – May 24, 2026

Barry passed peacefully and surrounded by family at the Smiths Falls Hospital on May 24, 2026, at the age of 70.

Barry will be lovingly remembered by his cherished partner, Terri Andress, with whom he shared companionship, adventures and love. 

Barry leaves behind his loving sons, Jordan (Kylie), Anthony (Dannielle), and Andrew (Kristyn). Barry was a cherished grandfather to Paysleigh, Theo, Andie, Frankie, and Rory. Though Barry did not get the chance to meet his grandson Rory, born just hours after his passing, he was already deeply loved and eagerly awaited.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Denise Best (nee Jordan) with whom he shared 40 wonderful years of marriage and built a loving family together.

He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Arlea (late John) and Wendy (late Larry); step-father-in-law, Ken Walker; his numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and the Quattrocchi family. Barry was predeceased by his mother Marion (Al Kidd) and father Ira (Kaye Best).

Barry spent many years as a transport driver, a career that reflected his independent spirit and love of the open road. Outside of work, he was passionate about motorcycles, Jeeps, off-roading, boating, and the companionship of his many beloved boxer dogs. He appreciated good company, time with family, and the simple joy of getting together with those he cared about.

 A Celebration of Barry’s Life will be held on June 25, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Smiths Falls Legion Branch 95 (7 Main Street East, Smiths Falls). In lieu of flowers, donations to the CHEO Foundation in honour of his children and grandchildren would be greatly appreciated.
