Obituary of Cathie Anne North
The family wishes to announce with great sadness the passing of Cathie at the Maison McCulloch Hospice in Sudbury, on May 24th, 2026, at the age of 71 years. After a short but valiant battle with cancer.
Beloved wife of Roger (predeceased in 2023). Much loved mother of Jeff (predeceased 2022), Jamie (Penny) of Sudbury, Julie (Paul) of Hanmer, and Joey of Manitouwadge. She will also be missed by her son in law Pat of Val Caron. Proud momma of Alesha (Noah), Brianna (Connor), Brendan, Matthew (Melissa), Catherine (Alex), Brittany, Andrew (Leanne), Emma (Cameron), and Kylie (Tanner). Special great grandma of 5. Dear sister of Susan (late Richard), Laurie (Ed), and LeeAnn (Mike). She will be missed by Caroline (late Lyle), Pat (late Victor), Randy (Nancy), Heather (Kevin), Rhonda (late Richard), and Barb. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to thank Dr. Pitre, Dr. Nykilchyk, Dr. Singh, and Dr. Carlson. As well as all the nurses and PSWs on the 4th floor of HSN for all your care and compassion to mom.
To the staff and nurses of Maison McCulloch Hospice, there are no words to say that could describe how amazing you all are. Although mom’s stay was very short, you went out of your way to make her feel comfortable and treated her like family. Your compassion and care are beyond amazing.
A special thank you to mom’s home nurse Corinne. You are an amazing nurse, compassionate and friendly.
As per mom’s wishes, there will be no service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, back home in the Ottawa Valley.
In her memory, donations can be made to the Maison McCulloch Hospice.
We will miss you mom, but we are so happy you are reunited with Dad and Jeff. Having 3 of you watching over us makes us feel less sadness.
Cremation services are provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury, and Crystal Crematorium.
