
Obituary of Joseph Edward Carroll
Joe passed away peacefully at the Fairview Manor in Almonte on Thursday May 28, 2026 at the age of 91.
Joe was predeceased by his cherished wife, Elizabeth McNeely. He was the dearly loved father of Kathy (Lannie) Lowry, Don (Jenny) Carroll, and Lisa (Dave) Hobson. A devoted grandfather, Joe adored Jason (Meredith) MacDonald, Perry Carroll, Teri-Lynn (Joshua) Monaghan, Lianne (Todd) Saucier, and Brent (Jayda) MacDonald. He also took great pride in his treasured great-grandchildren, Connor MacDonald, Laughlin, Patrick, and Hogan Monaghan, Mason and Maxton Saucier, and Jordyn and Blaire MacDonald.
Joe was the dear brother of Anne (Doug) Vaughan and brother-in-law of Betty and Claudette Carroll, Bruce and Olive Thompson, and Alex and Carol McNeely. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Born to the late Albert and Bridget (McComisky) Carroll, Joe was also predeceased by his sister, Mary (Bill) Fitzgerald, and by his brothers Patrick, Francis, and Ken Carroll.
Joe worked all of his adult life as an auto mechanic in Perth, and after retiring, did small engine repairs at his home. He was the proud member of the Perth Knights of Columbus, Branch 3531. He loved to hunt at the Redhorse Hunting Camp every fall, and to vacation and fish at Redhorse Lake in the summer.
The family wishes to thank Dr Drake and the staff at Fairview Manor for their outstanding personal care and professionalism. Your care and attention made Joe’s last years very happy ones.
Internment to take place at St John Roman Catholic Cemetery, Perth on Thursday, June 4th at 11am. A reception to celebrate Joe’s life will be held at Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth, immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s name to the Fairview Manor would be appreciated by his family.
