Obituary of David Frank Yach
It is with great sadness that the family of David Frank Yach announce his peaceful passing on May 30, 2026, at the age of 84 years. He was born in Shawville, Quebec, on August 15, 1941, to Helena and Albert. David lived a life centred on family, hard work, and generosity. Beloved husband of Sandra for 61 years and devoted father of Jeff (Jen) and Sue (Dan). Proud grandfather of Evelyn, Cameron, and Teegan. He took great pride in the many accomplishments of his children and grandchildren and truly treasured the time spent with them. He was a dear brother of Ken (predeceased by Norma) and Keith (Kathy), with whom he shared strong lifelong bonds. He also greatly valued the close relationships he shared with his nieces, nephews, and their families.
Dave dedicated 37 years of service to Hershey Canada, where he was highly respected by colleagues for his leadership and integrity and formed many lasting friendships throughout his career. Outside of work, Dave found great joy in woodworking and was rarely happier than when planning his next project. He treasured the time spent at The Farm, where countless cherished memories were shared with his brothers and family. He also enjoyed an active lifestyle and loved biking, downhill skiing, and cross-country skiing. Dave will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, craftsmanship, and unwavering devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, a private service will be held. A Celebration of Life will take place in the Summer of 2026, with details to be announced at a later date. Condolences and memories of Dave may be shared with the family at muchlovefordavidyach@gmail.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation/Smiths Falls Site ( https://psfdhfoundation.com/ways-to-give/ ) would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors Smiths Falls.
