Obituary of Harold Charles Higham

Peacefully Harold passed away at Fairview Manor, Almonte, Ontario with his beloved family by his side on Friday June 5, 2026. Harold was one of nine children, born in Toronto, Ontario on July 14, 1929. Growing up at the time of the depression in a large family shaped his life. He met his lifelong love, Lillian, in his teen years in the area of Toronto where they both grew up. Coming from large families they both loved and appreciated family bonds. Harold worked very hard all his life and became a senior manager at Canadian National Railways in Montreal where he had an exceptional career. Scott was born in 1954 and Donna in 1957 and he was a wonderful father. He was determined that they would not know the struggles that he had throughout his childhood. He is survived by his son Scott Higham (Nancy) and Donna Drummond (Alan). He is survived by five grandchildren and was predeceased by his granddaughter Hilary who he loved deeply. He also leaves behind 5 great-grandchildren. He is at peace with his beloved Lillian now and will spend eternity with the love of his life.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth, on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 1:00pm until the time of Harold’s memorial service in the chapel at 2:00pm. In honour of him, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or Fairview Manor, Almonte would be greatly appreciated.
