Obituary of Bev McGinnis
Rosetta Beverley McGinnis
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Rosetta Beverley McGinnis on June 7, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on October 10, 1944, Bev passed away surrounded by the love of her family, in the arms of her daughter and two granddaughters.
Bev was predeceased by her beloved husband Raymond, brother Francis, and her parents Violet and Harold. She leaves behind her devoted daughter (Norma), two cherished granddaughters Natalie and Stephanie (Gibran), two treasured great-grandchildren Ava and Zavier. She was the beloved sister of Bill (Cindy), Janet, Wayne (Heather), and Eric (Jeanette) and sister-in-law Iva McGinnis. Bev will be fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A cowgirl at heart, Bev found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved country music and country living, spent countless hours tending her gardens, and shared her musical talents through playing the organ. She was an active member of the Women's Institute and had a deep appreciation for family history, dedicating time and care to preserving stories and memories through family history books. Bev was also a talented quilter, creating pieces that reflected the warmth, love, and care she gave so freely to others.
Above all else, Bev loved her family. She was a source of unwavering strength, courage, bravery, and resilience. Through both life's joys and challenges, she led by example, teaching those around her the value of perseverance, kindness, and unconditional love.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Meadows of Dorchester for the kindness, compassion, and dignity they showed Bev throughout the past year. Their care allowed us to spend meaningful time together and create memories we will cherish forever.
Her legacy lives on in the generations she helped shape and in the many memories shared by those fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of her family and friends.
"Though her hands are now at rest, the seeds she planted—in her gardens, her quilts, her family history, and in the hearts of those she loved—will continue to grow for generations to come."
