Obituary of Eileen Isabel Dowdall

Eileen passed away peacefully at Lanark Lodge in Perth on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the age of 96, with her family by her side.

She was predeceased by Murray Herbert Dowdall, her loving husband and best friend of 67 years. Eileen was the loved and respected mother of Connie (Chris) Walker of Fort McMurray, Alberta, and Janet Brady of Perth.

Eileen felt incredibly blessed to be the beloved grandmother to Jennifer, Tamara and Tanner, and her great-grandchildren, Keydan, Kaeson, Carter and Briya Thompson of Fort McMurray, and Magnus and Darius Parks of Sooke, British Columbia.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edith (Kirkham) and Calvin Buchanan, and by her siblings, Kenneth Buchanan, Keith Buchanan and Edna Cameron.

Eileen and Murray operated the Glen Tay Store and Service Station for 29 years. She was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and took great pride in her longstanding devotion to the Eastern Star and the Shriner Ladies of Ottawa. For many years, she also enjoyed attending Keen Agers.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Lanark Lodge in Perth for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Eileen.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore Street West, Perth, on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. An interment service will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Perth at 1:00 p.m.

In remembrance of Eileen, memorial contributions to the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital - Perth Site would be appreciated by her family.
