Obituary of Margaret "Maggie" Anne Snarr Hay
It is with profound sadness that we announce Maggie's passing following complications from elbow surgery, that later revealed an autoimmune liver disease on Thursday, July 2, 2026, with her loving family by her side at the age of 62. She is survived by her husband and best friend Jim and her children Kimi and Thomas (Morgan). She was a loving sister of Janet (Jack), Kathy (Brock), and Vicky. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Maggie was an avid reader, not often found without a book close by. She had a love of travel, especially to tropical destinations where you would find her enjoying time on the beach and in the sun. In her downtime, she would enjoy a card game with family and friends and then enjoying time on the TV enjoying the most recent reality show.
Her family would like to thank the medical staff in both the Ottawa General and Smiths Falls Hospitals who took such wonderful care navigating her final medical challenges and her end of life care.
There will be a Celebration of Life taking place on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at The Royal Canadian Legion, 177 George St., Carleton Place, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to Liver Canada would be appreciated by the family.
