Hi, I wonder whether someone from the family might send me a quick email to tell me whether this Brian Peters may possibly be the old friend I had 50 yrs. ago? The last I heard from him, he was planning to attend Lakehead University for his Masters after being at MacMaster. This was in 1972.
I am so very sorry for your great loss...if this was the same Brian who took me to my senior prom in Ottawa, I would dearly love to know!
Best wishes, Lauren MacNeil (formerly Crabtree) of Toronto and Ottawa and Cameron Lake, Kawartha.

I have many lifelong memories with Brian and Donna. I will always cherish the memory of Brian teaching me how to golf at a young age and watching his smooth golf swing. From working together at Ross Lake when he helped us build the bedrooms, to our visits in Perth on the lake with our own kids, Brian was always kind and always a true gentleman. We are so sorry for your loss and are keeping you all in our thoughts.

Brian was the embodiment of social justice in action. He was a compassionate human being who loved his profession and took great care of others. You never heard a negative word or criticism from him, just the truth and love for others. My sincere condolences to the family and just know his spirit was full of love and that was apparent to all who knew him.

Dear Donna,
Please know I’m thinking of you and your family at this hard time. I recall working alongside Brian a number of years ago at St. John’s Elementary as school nurse. He was a true gentleman. It quickly became evident he championed the needs of others, particularly the students who fell under his charge.
As Brian’s Beloved of 50yrs, you and your children were incredibly blessed to have him in your lives for so many years, but with that closeness comes a deeper sense of loss. May his legacy of kindness and giving live on in each of you. As our gracious Lord walks alongside you during this difficult time, may He tenderly comfort you with His care and compassion. Sorrow runs deep, but love runs deeper. He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge. (Psalm 91:4)
With my deepest sympathy and prayers,
donna

Dear Donna, Jeff, David, Brianne, Blair and the entire Peters family,
As close friends of Brian's since high school, we were very sorry to learn of his passing. We have so many wonderful memories of our times with Brian - it was through Brian that we connected as a couple. Henry recalls many "adventures" with Brian and John McGuirk. The last time we saw Brian was at Mrs. McGuirk's Celebration of Life where "The Three Amigos" shared a big hug and reminiced over dinner.
We have many fond memories of visiting you with our family when we camped at Murphy"s Point Provincial Park for many years and when you stayed with us for Nancy's wedding. We have spent the last few days revisiting all the special moments we spent with your wonderful husband, father and brother, shedding many tears but also smiling many smiles. We will miss him very much and share in your sorrow at his loss. As long as we have these memories, he will never be gone from our hearts. May your cherished memories live on in your hearts and minds forever. With our most sincere condolences, Barbara and Henry Pokorski

to Brian's family, he was a wonderful friend to my late brother John McGuirk and our family, I am so sorry for your loss.
My memories of Brian were pretty funny since his brother Bill and I were the same age we were also in the same grade and the first day in grade 9 we sat nervously in homeroom. We filled our names into the seating and Mr. Sheridan looked it and said ... Bill Brian's brother? Andrea , sister of Charles, Eileen, sister of Ian and Kathy sister of John! Well this will be an interesting year!!
We went to the same church as the Peters family so we knew them along time , it seems hard to believe that they are gone! I think somewhere some teacher in Heaven, hopefully not Brian's dad is lookig at a seating plan and having a fright! That is if they used their real names since these same boys (at the time) gave the wrong names to any sub teacher who braved their class... I can't remember anymore who was Jake Snake and other assorted names.
I saw Brian at our mother's funeral and I know how much it meant to us to see him again, he will missed, fondly.
Also my grade 9 girlfriends always seemed to hang out at our house when John's friends were dropping in.... I found it hard to think of my brother as anyone's crush but totally got that for Ian, Henry and Brian. Kathy McGuirk Pittman

Dear Donna,Jeff,Dave,Brianne,and Blair,
We are all sad to hear of Brian’s passing after a few years of very trying times.
What a touching,well-written,informative tribute to a man who certainly earned and deserves much recognition and appreciation.
What a memorable’snapshot’of his life,family,friends,career,colleagues,students,interests,and accomplishments.
Brian’s belief and’ proof ‘of how valuable ‘restorative justice’ can be ,in so many situations ,was thankfully passed on to many .
Our thoughts and prayers are certainly with you. …. Your family faces the days ahead with so many memories to cling to of an exceptionally good husband, good father, and good person.

To Brian's family: Brian was a good friend to my late brother, John, and was in his wedding party many years ago. I remember him as a funny and smiling guy, sometimes goofy but always steady and outgoing. I admit I hadn't seen him for several decades, but he attended our late Mother's funeral in Oshawa in April 2019. He sat behind me with John and Joan and it was so kind of him to attend. John left us in October of that same year. I am glad they were able to spend some time together at that time.
I have very fond memories of Brian and I send you deepest condolences on his passing.

In 1975 Brian was teaching a course in Terrace Bay. He asked if anyone knew someone who golfed to take him out. I said my husband loves to golf he’ll take you out. Went home to tell Paddy. He said “I hate when you do that.” Well off they went and became best friends. A month later Brian was climbing in our kitchen window, put on the bacon and said, “Get up Spadon… we’re going golfing.” The families have remained the best of friends for years with trips up North, to Perth, Florida, baptisms and weddings. We will miss you Brian.
