Thomas Gary Stearns

It is with great sadness that the family of Gary Stearns announce his sudden passing in St. John's, Newfoundland, on July 29, 2026.

Gary will be forever loved and deeply missed by his devoted wife of 50 years Linda, with whom he shared many years of love and companionship.

He was the cherished father of Tyler Stearns and his wife Cassandra Maxted of Waterloo, and Amy Stearns and her husband Michael Cranston of Smiths Falls. Gary was immensely proud of his family, and treasured the memories they shared together of travel and special times.

He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Bertha Stearns, by his aunt, Doris M. Burrows of Smiths Falls, and his sister, Doris Ruth Warga of British Columbia.

Gary will be remembered for the lives he touched, the friendships he made, expertise he provided for his clients, and the love he shared with those around him. Though his passing was unexpected, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Gary’s life will take place at the Blair & Son Smiths Falls Reception Centre, 112 Beckwith Street North, Smiths Falls Friday, August 21 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In memory of Gary, memorial donations may be made to the MS Society would be appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Smiths Falls.
