Obituary of Marilyn Joan Kelly

Passed away peacefully at Lanark Lodge surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 14, 2026, in her 87^th year. She was the beloved wife of the late Desmond Kelly and will be lovingly remembered by her sons Doug (Kelly) Kelly and Paul (Sheila Mallette) Kelly.

Marilyn was a cherished grandmother to Caitlyn (Steve) Woods, Kristyn (Andrew) Best, Karelyn (Ben) MacFarlane, Brandon Whalen (Milene Ruest), Justin Kelly and Glen Kelly, and a proud great-grandmother to Rory, Jacob, Theo, Andie, Freya, Desmond and Maddie. Loving sister to Debby Rathwell (Jack Leaver) of Balderson, Heather (Dave) Lundberg and Shannon (Ron) McIlvenna of Stanleyville.

She was predeceased by her parents, Warner Rathwell and Helen McNamee, and her sister Kathryn Barrett.

Marilyn had a love of travel and enjoyed the many experiences and memories it brought her. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Church. Marilyn was also among the early volunteers at the Smiths Falls site of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital, giving her time to help others when hospital volunteering was just beginning.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith Street North, Smiths Falls, on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery, with a reception to follow at Hanley Hall.

Marilyn will be remembered with love by her family and all who knew her.

In memory of Marilyn the family asks in memoriam donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society.
