Obituary of Paul Patrick Pennett

It is with great sadness that the family of Paul Patrick “Peanut” Pennett announces his passing at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 72.

A lifelong resident of Perth, Paul will be deeply missed by his partner of 20 years, Bonnie Sargeant; his son, Matthew Pennett; his much-loved grandchildren, Parker, Landon and Greyson Pennett; his sister, Jean Visser.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, Shirley William Pennett and Evelyn (Mackler) Pennett; his brother, Jim Pennett; brother-in-law, Cliff Cox; and sister-in-law, Darlene (Turner) Pennett.

Paul spent 25 years working at Canadian Tire. After retiring, he earned his business certificate from Algonquin College and continued to keep busy working part-time as a delivery driver for local businesses around Perth.

Paul had a big heart and a positive outlook on life. He was kind, funny, famously forgetful and occasionally clumsy — traits that provided his family with countless laughs and memories.

Friends and family may pay their respects at Blair & Son Funeral Home on Monday, August 31, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. John’s Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m., with interment at St. John’s Cemetery.

Paul will be remembered for his big heart, his humour, and the many smiles he brought to those around him. In his memory, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke foundation would be appreciated by Paul's family.
