Dear Theresa and the extended Kirkham family,
All members of Upper Rideau Branch 542 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Westport send their collective condolences to the family. Wayne was a veteran and solid supporter of the Branch. He served the Branch in much the same way as he served his country. He was a regular contributor to the weekly cribbage gatherings at the Branch. He will be missed by all members.

Wayne was a great guy who made everyone laugh. He lit up a room when he entered. I knew Wayne from Mattawa where he was a member of the Legion. He was a great friend and comrade to many.

Making it to Heaven. Wayne Kirkham, I was so blessed to be with you as you left this earth. All know the story of our first meeting when you said "I'll take you to Heaven!" then when you got to know me you told your friends "I'd get you to Heaven!" I promised you I would not let go of your hand, 3 years were too short. You captivated my heart, and that of my family who will miss you so much. Each night you would call or send me an audio "good night dear" I treasured those. You will be soulfully missed. IN the last moments Wayne GOD HELD YOUR HAND With MINE.

Wayne, you always had the best advice. You were always there when I needed someone to talk to, and you had a way of helping me through the hard things in life.
Thank you for always checking in, for the birthday wishes, the Christmas calls, the conversations, and for always being someone I could turn to. I’ll always be grateful for the advice and memories you gave me over the years.
You will be greatly missed, Wayne.

My sincere condolences to everyone in the Kirkham family..
Wayne was a friend and fellow military officer. We worked together in North Bay as Surveillance officers in Canada West (North Bay)
Today I was fishing in the Sharbot Lake area and I thought about Wayne, my time in North Bay and his friendship. On the way home to Stittsville, I remembered that he was from Perth and out of the blue I passed a road on the left??? Kirkham rd. Never seen it before.
Maybe he was letting me know.
Rest in Peace brother, on behalf of those AECs and Air Defence Techs past and present, it was a privilege and honour serving with you. Now we have the watch, down tools, rest easy.

Our heartfelt condolences to Momma Theresa and family. We are blessed to have lived next door to this wonderful family cottage and looked forward to every summer talking with Wayne and finding out what projects he had planned and generally learning a great deal about himself and the area. He was such an interesting man and really enjoyed hearing the stories he used to tell about his career. He was such a wealth of knowledge and an all round nice guy. He will be missed dearly by my wife and I and still cant imagine not having him around. He is dearly missed and hope to catch up with him one day!
