Obituary of Bob Moore
It is with great sadness that the family of Bob Moore announces his passing at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital – Perth Site on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the age of 91.
Bob was predeceased by his loving wife, Rita (Norwood) in 2017. He was the cherished father to Tammy (Tom) Gemmill, Debbie (Dave) McNamee, Chris Moore (Anne Marie), Lori (Paul) Boles, and Jamie (Alyssa) Moore. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Matt Gemmill (Alex), Travis Gemmill, Andrew Gemmill (Kelsey), Shane McNamee (Lindsay), Cory McNamee (Sam), Olivia (Adam) Trudel, Abbie (Jason) Willows, Declan Moore, Johnny (Cyndi) Boles, Heidi Boles (Sebastien), Robert Moore (Amy), Alex Moore, Avery Moore, and by his many great grandchildren, all of whom he loved deeply. Bob is predeceased by his granddaughter, Emily McNamee (2015) and by his son in law, Kerry Gemmill (2006). He will be forever missed by his brother, Ron Moore and sister, Bev (the late Lorne) VanDusen. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Ernie and Mary Moore, his sister, Evelyn, and by his brothers, Keith, Ernest and Clifford. Bob was respected and loved by all of Dan and Kathleen Norwood’s family.
Bob was known for his strong work ethic and remaining active, tending to his home and yard until just one week ago. Above all, Bob considered his family to be his greatest accomplishment and source of pride. He also had a deep love for nature and was happiest when he could be out hunting, or out on the lake, spending hours fishing. Even as recently as two weeks ago, Bob was able to enjoy time on the water with his two sons.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Cunniffe and the 2nd floor nursing staff at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital – Perth Site for their kindness, compassion and care during Bob’s time there.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. In honour of Bob, memorial contributions to Emily’s Fund, Epilepsy Southeastern Ontario would be greatly appreciated by his family.
