Obituary of Ann Vaughan

Ann passed away peacefully at the Perth Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in her 87th year.

Ann was the beloved wife of Doug Vaughan and cherished mother of Judy (Don) Meraw of Perth and Sandy (Floyd) Thomas, also of Perth. She was the proud grandmother of Dan (Victoria) Thomson, Jamie (Greg) Spencer, Steven Meraw, Matthew Thomas and Melissa (Stephanie) Thomas, and a loving great-grandmother to Preston (Mable), Eden and Henry Spencer, and Ravi Thomas.

She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Bridget Carroll; her sister, Mary (late Bill) Fitzgerald; and her brothers, Francis, Ken, Pat and Joe Carroll.

Ann will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews, as well as her dear “Tim Hortons sister,” Dorothy "Dee Dee" Freestone.

Above all, Ann cherished her family and had a great love for animals. In her younger years, she and Doug enjoyed travelling with friends, whether soaking up the sun or skiing the hills of Whistler. These adventures, along with the time spent surrounded by those she loved, created many treasured memories throughout her life.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Monday, October 5, 2026 from 4:00PM-7:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m with interment to immediately follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Perth. A reception will be held at the Blair & Son Funeral Home where all can join in their support for the family and gather together in memory of Ann.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ann's memory to the Lanark Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) would be greatly appreciated by her family.
