Obituary of Grace Elaine Cameron

Cameron, Grace Elaine

It’s not often that someone gets to write their own obituary, but then again, I’ve never been much for following the usual script. If you’re reading this, it means I, Grace Cameron, have taken my final bow at the age of 72. It’s April, a month as unpredictable as I’ve been told I was throughout my life.

From my mischievous child hood in the small town where I grew up, to the light-hearted pranks I never grew out of, my spirit has always been one of joy. I’ve heard it said that I was the light of many people’s lives, and while I can’t claim to know the truth of that, I can say I’ve always tried to brighten the corners where the shadows dwell.

My journey was filled with laughter, love, and a fair share of shenanigans. I’ve been a daughter, a sister, a wife, a friend, and to some, a bit of a mystery. To those I’ve left behind, I hope you remember the good times with a smile.

I leave behind a world that was as beautiful as it was challenging. To my family, I say thank you for your love and patience. To my friends, remember that life is too short to be taken seriously all the time. And to those young at heart, keep the spirit of mischief alive; it’s the spice of life.

There will be no somber gatherings to mourn my departure. Instead, celebrate my journey with stories that make you laugh until you cry. Know that I’ve embarked on my greatest adventure yet, and in some way, I’ll always be with you.

In lieu of flowers (which I’ve loved), do something kind for someone who doesn’t expect it. After all, a little bit of unexpected joy is a beautiful legacy to leave behind.

Farewell everyone. Remember, the best way to honour my memory is to live your life with laughter, love and maybe a little mischief.

Thank you all.
