Blackburn, Sophia (McPhee) Peacefully at Lanark Lodge, Perth on Sunday October 21st, 2012 at the age of 97 years. Sophia was predeceased by her greatly loved husband J. Arden Blackburn and her siblings Ernie, Florence, Violet, Allen, Dorothy, Herbert and Lila McPhee, Doris Rankin, June Yuill, Merle McPhee and Ferne Goddard. She was the cherished mother of Kenneth (Jean) and the late Lindsay Blackburn; much loved grandmother to Karen (George) Chenier, David (Micheila) and Kent (Jennie) Blackburn and beloved Great Nana to Alexandra, Kael, Kerrington, Kennedy, Jacob and Kobe. Sophia was dear sister of Rose (Donald) Somerville and sister-in-law of Merlin and Mary McPhee; she will be sadly missed by Doris Blackburn, all her family and many friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St W., West, Perth on Tuesday October 23rd 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held in the chapel Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery. In respect of the wonderful care Sophia received, her family suggest memorial donations be considered to the Lanark Lodge Memorial Fund.
