My heart felt sympathy to the family. It was a blessing to share life with Dave. Not many get to experience true friendship of another in ones life. We have many pass through our lives but only rare people truly become best friends, this is what Jeff & Dave had for over 35 yrs. I know of another with such a bond David and Jonathan of the old testament, thank you Dave for showing me how to be a true friend no matter the difference. You will be forever missed in our home but not our hearts.

Maybe this isn’t the place but I don’t know where is. Other people messed us up. You messed us up. I didn’t understand why you pushed me away, but I guess you knew what was coming. I don’t have anyone to talk to about you and that hurts. I wish you could have been my dad from the very start, and until the very end. I wish you were here to be the best grandpa, because I know you would have been. I miss you Dad. I hope you know how much you are loved and how much you are missed.

Dave teasing me
Everytime we had a family function, as soon as Betty and I walked in, Dave would always say.." Theres the pretty boy" kinda made me mad but you know, I would love to hear him say it again !
Sleep well David ....

My little Brother
Dave was a quiet man, a good man. He had a big heart and never wanted to bother anyone.
The nurses said he was one of the favorites at the hospital, right to the very end he was considerate to the nurses before himself. I remember when he first went in the hospital, he told me his name was King David. :) I laughed and asked why, he said "That is the way they treat me here"
Dave always saw the best in people, he was very very seldom angry, or if he was he would never show it. He worked very hard up to the time he got sick. He always put in an honest day work and then some.
He is going to be missed so much.
With love
Bet

From Dave's eldest brother Mark (who resides in heaven)
It was April 2012 and Dave accompanied his Mom to an appt. in KGH, Mark was in Kingston receiving cancer treatments and he and I joined Dorothy and Dave at her appt. Cindy had driven them up. Afterwards we had a little visit and when we were parting Dave turned to Mark and said "Love you Bro" Mark had tears in his eyes then and I believe that was their last meeting, because Mark died in early June. Thankyou David for saying that to Mark- it meant the world! I trust you 2 Ritchie boys are together again and I send my love, Gail
