Dear Ivan, Dawn, Jeff and Carla and family:
There is so much I can say about Phyllis - so here goes - This is how I will always remember her. Phyllis was my mentor. I learned SO much working alongside this great lady for nearly 10 years. We had many laughs, a few cries and chopped alot of coleslaw! She was the best baker and cook around. She probably rolled enough pastry to build a road to China and back and never once complained. She had a strong spirit and was a hard, dedicated worker. Phyllis celebrated with you in the good times and was there to offer comfort and kind words during the rough patches.
One thing for sure she loved all of you SOOOO much and was so proud of Jeff and Dawn and their accomplishments. The apple of her eye were her two beautiful grandchildren -- she always had a little story to tell, so happy how smart they are and how proud she was of the great job Jeff and Carla are doing of raising them. Phllis was so happy when you moved home Dawn and happy you were doing so well at Albany, bought a nice home and were settled close to her. She was equally as sad with the news that Jeff and Carla were moving away, only because she would miss them all like crazy and I'm sure they missed her too. Phyllis loved people, always making time for a chat and going the extra mile for her family and friends. She had a strong faith in God and loved volunteering at all the church functions. She loved doing for others - it made her happy.
Like I said I could go on and on but have gone on enough. May all the good times and memories fill your hearts and minds and get you through the tough days ahead.
Rest in peace dear sweet Phyllis - I love you and am so happy to have had you in my life and to call you "friend". I will miss you as will many.
With lots of love and deep respect:
Donna McPhee

Our sympathies to the Ashby family and to the Foster family on the death of Phyllis. I have many memories of Phyllis during Young Peoples meetings and also on the school bus rides to Lanark Continuation School - all those many years ago. Although I did not know her so much in later years, I do know she will be missed by all.
