Take care of you and we will see you soon.

Darleen/Family,
I look at your husband/father/and our K4C Buddy. With your family and our friends, I look in his eyes; Brent says to me; rain doesn't matter, the trains not on time, no big deal! George's breakfast is cold, we will get through it! Kevin, said 9:00 to leave but Papa 'Joe' knew it was 10:00....all good!!!! Who needs coffee in the morning and by the way... I will take care of taxi drives to Smiths Falls, ambulance trips to where ever and when ever. Frank runs the show and by the way.... Darlene; the tents on a slant. As the founder of what should be deemed as a small event has become so much more. Brent would always give me the smile, wink or quick glance to say.....hey kid, we have it covered. I enjoyed asking Brent to say grace and bless us as we left the dock and our special paddler Darleen (Red Rooster) would give us her our AWHOAH, AWHOAH, AWHOAH. Brent.. you wrote on our web site about your reasons for being a part of 'Kayaking for Cancer' and I leave this message for you/Darlene and Family. I wish for you, that your dad; that was taken from you so young....be connected.....your brother and you are re-united, your pastor welcomes you with Gods grace and your neighbor greets you with open arms. You are ever entrenched in our hearts and K4C will honor you year after year.
God Bless Brent,
Joe's Son (Kevin)

Darlene, I have knowen Brent from high school. We were in the same training class for a brakeman back in 84. He was a pleasure to work with and be around. When I came to know Jesus he helped me to fill in the holes of the foundation of my faith. We would share "kid" stories and how we would help our adult children to cope in this world we live. I will miss taking a train off him. The railroad makes us closer together as friends. We spend a lot of time with each other, I will miss spending time with Brent. May the peace of God be on you and your family today and forever more. God Bless

A great guy to know and work with, and we could always still have some fun when called to run even the worst trains. He was so easy going, and could handle even the bad situations, so well. Even on days that you really didn't want to be at work, and your mind was somewhere else, he could make you still enjoy the day and move on. We could always talk about almost anything, and Brent would give an honest opinion on the subject, weather you totally agreed with him or not. So long Brent, my co-worker and friend. God bless you and your family. Jack Saunders

"Dobber" and I had many eventful trips over the years. Perhaps my favorite was getting "held-out" at St. Clet last year in the early hours for the Montreal commuter train rush was my most memorable. We had been up almost all night and were dog-tired and just about cross-eyed. I went for coffee and wouldn't-you-know-it, fresh, steaming hot baked triple chocolate chip muffins. Upon my return we enjoyed fresh coffee and hot muffins - earning me the title "muffin man." We have had many laughs over this and other events which cannot be repeated here! Deepest regrets and regards to you Darlene and the Dopson family. Highball Dobber.
