The end of an era ! Mrs. McVeigh was the best teacher ever. I aspired to teach the way she did. She read to us every day-and thus inspired a love of reading. She had a little rhyme for many language rules, which made learning fun. She was strict, but fair, and always had time to listen to each student. I asked for news of Marion each time I was back home, but never did get to visit her . She made a wonderful contribution to education in that little elementary school in Lanark.
