Having spent many years at Spooner School, I had the pleasure to watch Lynsey from the time she was little, to watching her grow and mature to be a lovely young lady, inside and out. As the years went by, I would meet her on occasion and she always had time to have a little chat with me. To your family, I send my sincere sympathy for the loss of your precious daughter. May she rest in peace, and may your sadness lift with the comfort of the many precious memories you have, as well as the many thoughts and prayers that go out to you at this difficult time.

Dear Karen (and family), We went to school many, many years ago together and our paths crossed briefly at RRC, but I just wanted you to know my heart and sympathy goes out to you and your family. My prayers are with you and your family in losing your precious daughter at such a young age to cancer. I know I cannot truly comprehend your feelings of loss, but I do know the loss of a loved one takes many years (if ever)to appreciate and remember the good memories. My only comparison is also losing my mother 3 years ago tomorrow to the terrible disease of cancer.

I was very saddened to hear of Lynsey's passing at such a precious young age. Lynsey was in my Grade 5 class at Spooner School & she was such a beautiful young girl, an absolute pleasure to teach! Over the years, I would periodically run into Lynsey and we would have a chat. She matured into a lovely young lady. Usually when I would run into her, she was with her good friend Morgan and I would tell the girls how nice it was that they had maintained their wonderful friendship over the years as these two girls were inseparable when I taught both of them. Lynsey was taken far too young but she will be a precious angel watching over all her loved ones. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

My memory of Lynsey
First of all I would like to say sorry for the loss of Lynsey. She was a counsellor at the camp I went to for a few years. She always told me that I could do it when she was teaching me how to jump rope. A couple weeks later she was proud that I could do it. Lynsey I would like to thank you for taking your time in teaching me. I am so sorry for your loss, and sorry that I was unable to come to the funeral, as when I found out it was just too late.

Smile
I was shocked when I first heard about Lynsey's illness and even more shocked about her passing. Her light burned so bright, her smile so contagious. She was a pleasure to teach at sfdci and my sympathies go out to all her family and friends. She reminded me daily how important it was to smile and appreciate each day. I thank her for that and will always remember her smiling face.

Friendship
Lynsey was one of the first new girls I met when I transferred to SFDCI in grade 11. She had a way of reaching out to people that warmed you right to your heart. It was as if we had known each other for years already. We grew close throughout the rest of high school and when I decided to move out west in 2008, one of the hardest people to be apart from was Lyns. We cried the night before I left, hugging for what seemed like hours. When everyone else was saying "just stay!", Lyns was saying "you're going to do so great!" while smiling her famous smile at me. Of course she made me promise to come back and visit lots. When I was able to come home and fulfill that promise, it was always as if we had seen each other the day before and not months ago.
I have always looked back on those moments and been so appreciative of her friendship, support and strength. I am eternally thankful for her kindness and love. No matter the physical distance between us, we were always close at heart.
Thank you for so many beautiful memories, for laughter and tears, for knowing when to speak and when to listen, and for being a true friend - no matter the distance.
I love you girl!
xoxo

A delight to know
Lynsey was a student at Bridgepoint Health when I had the pleasure of meeting her. She always had a smile and was positive. She spoke so fondly of her family...she always looked forward to going home and she would tell me how excited she was to have her favourite meal. On Mondays she would have the leftovers! I know that the gentle, caring person that I knew for such a short time, will fondly be remembered.

To Bill, Karen, Ryan & Megan. Thank you for sharing your sweet baby girl. Lynsey with us. She loved Ben
with all her heart and made us all fall in love with her. From her first 'meet the parents' to our many extended family get togethers, what a pleasure to watch the love grow between Ben & Lyns. I especially want to thank you for allowing us to be part of these last few weeks. As painfully sad as the time has been, the love and care was beautiful. There was so much beauty in the work of Lynsey's girlfriends making her surroundings so pretty, in the strength of Ryan & Megan
holding her hand, in Bill's relaxing foot massages for Lyns,in The tender loving care done by Karen and the most sweetest caresses from our Ben. We are so fortunate to know all of you and treasure all our memories. Love forever & a day. Tam and Bob. Xxxooo

I remember when you helped me learn how to swim at Rideau Lakes day camp. It will never be the same without you. I felt safe with you. You helped me with my fear of canoes. I used to be afraid of them tipping and I drawn and not be able to make it and you told me you were there if anything ever happened.

Lynsey as a classmate
I was a classmate of Lynsey's at Brock University. As a mature student I often felt isolated in the classroom without any strong connections with my peers. The first class I shared with Lynsey was an assessments class, each Wednesday morning Lynsey would arrive to class with a smile on her face and made a point of striking up a conversation with me. Authenticity, charisma and genuine regard for others were a few of Lynsey's undeniable strengths. I was very grateful to have her companionship in the classroom, her efforts allowed me feel less invisible to my peers. Lynsey was a compassionate communicator which made her an exceptional rec therapist in-the-making. As we progressed through our degree followed by our internships Lynsey only continued to grow and inspire her peers through her natural ability to work with clients. At graduation my nerves were settled when I discovered Lynsey would cross the stage right behind me. We spent most of the ceremony chatting back and forth. Although she didn't quite seem like her full-self, she wasn't going to let anything stop her that day. Lynsey was the complete package: smart, beautiful, courageous and loving; she truly made the world a better place. I believe, if given more time, Lynsey would have changed the lives of many, just as she did mine. I am forever grateful for Lynsey's unwavering kindness. My thoughts and prayers are with Bill and Karen, Ryan, and Ben, as well as Lynsey's Grandparents, extended family and friends. I wish you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to hold in your hearts forever.

I was lucky enough to have this Lynsey in my class more than once at SFDCI. No matter how my lesson was going, I would look out and she would be smiling, and nodding encouragingly at me. Even when deadlines loomed, I can't picture her without that beautiful smile. She and her friends were so close and so kind to each other- what a gift it was for all of us to have know her. My deepest sympathies to you all.

Our Precious Niece
Oh, as her "Whitney" Aunt and Uncle, we have so many loving, funny, happy stories of Lynsey as she was growing up. The time she "hid" the cheque that her parents got for Christmas from her Grandparents. Yes, she did finally give it back. The many birthday parties we were at with her wonderful group of friends. Lynsey's memory will live in our hearts and memories until we meet her again. We'll think of Lynsey as we walk around DisneyWorld and enter her favourite Cinderella Castle. This is where Lynsey got engaged to her love of her life, Ben Mulrooney. They had happy times and made memories even though Lynsey was in pain. We love you precious and will keep your memory alive - like we do your Grandparents. xo
