I was so sorry to read of Peter's passing in the obituaries today. I worked with Peter when he did a music program at Camp Otterdale back in the late 80's. He was a great guy and such a big personality he will be truly missed. There is a great picture of him surrounded by a group of kids (including my daughter Jasmine) at Camp O in one of the old pamphlets about it. My sincerest condolences. I will say a prayer for him.

To Mark, Paul and families,
So saddened to read of Peters passing. Please accept my very sincere condolences.
Peter was a very down to earth person and loved his music. He told me one time during one of our many conversations that if life is getting you down, just think of a favourite Hymn sing it, it will give you your answer and has worked many times. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the service because of distance but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time

Ever since high school I admired Peter for his musical abilities. He always did an amazing job in musicals. Since moving into the Lodge he blessed me several times while playing for church services,or in the small group of singers he directed.
Many pleasant memories will remain of Peter, till we meet him in the heavenly chorus.

I was so sad to learn of Peter's passing. I met him in 1990 at Langford P.S. south of Napanee. As a colleague and friend I found him to be extremely loyal and supportive; he exhibited these qualities toward all the lives that he touched. Through his works, especially in music, he inspired and motivated many. I am so sorry for your loss.

I would like to send my deepest condolences to Peter's family. Peter was my favorite teacher growing up in Odessa. He taught me more about life and giving to people.I remember sitting at his desk and he was trying to teach me English, I was struggling with it but he never gave up on me until I understood it.He always took time for me. When I graduated from OPS I told Peter that when I "grow up" and have a child I am going to name it after him. And I did I have a beautiful 23 year old daughter named Hannah. I will never forget you Mr. Hannah. God has taken another angel home. RIP. until me meet again.

Peter Hannah was one of the most kind and generous people I have ever known. He loved children so much that for years he would teach all year and then direct kids camps at Wesley Acres all summer. His endearing personality, sense of humour, and musical talent made summer camps incredibly special for so many kids, including me.
There are few people in this world who have impacted my life as much as Peter Hannah. I will miss you Peter.

It was with sadness we learned of Peter's passing, but know God has a special place for such a special man. I met Peter through teaching in L&A ..particularly together on staff at HHLangford PS. There are so many wonderful qualities that he lived to share and teach his students, his colleagues, and friends. Personally...we remember him convincing us to share our daughter,Pam's horse,Shy, with children at one Wesley Acres summer camp . He also saved our son,Rob's life ,when he was fooling around..as kids do..in grade 8 lunch...choking on a grape! I am glad our school recognized him with the Red Cross award. He was so humble, We. had so many fun musicals. Peter was a special Christian man. I remember him saying that when they took the Lord's Prayer out of the school, it was like removing a blessing from the school ,staff and students! He will be sadly missed but we look forward to a future reunion ! May God surround family and friends with love and comfort.most sincerely, Marion and Larry Wannamaker & family,Napanee,On

I am saddened to hear of Peter's passing. He was a colleague, mentor and a close friend for the first ten years of my career at H.H. Langford and Sandhurst Public Schools. So much of what I saw him model as a teacher I still try to reflect in my own teaching many years later.... respect for each child and the gift that music in our lives can be. We had many great adventures in and out of school! Once I was married and had children and Peter was back in Perth, our contact was not as frequent, but every phone call or visit felt like nothing had changed. We had great laughs and shared stories and I so admired his devotion to his family. He will be missed!

Mr. Hannah was one of my favorite teachers during his time at Enterprise Public School. He ran a CYC youth group here that grew in popularity so much that almost every child in the area attended! During his time here in Enterprise, he was a pillar of our little community, and much loved. He taught us to sing in harmony, to get along and to love your neighbor. The world needs more people like him, he will be sorely missed. I still have an Enid Blyton book he gave me as a reward in Grade school, more than 29 years ago.
What a fine man. I am a better person for having had his guidance back then. My thoughts are with the family

Very sorry to hear of Mr. Hannah passing away . He taught me in grade 8 many years ago. He was very funny caring and no nonsense teacher who never put up with my crap lol. He gave me many rooms with a view i.e. moved my desk out into the hallway when I got on his nerves... He read the Emily of new moon series to us and it was like taking us away to another time. He read every chapter with such animation! I hope to introduce my children to the same series so they can experience the wonders of that time period like i did.. Thanks for the great memories Mr. Hannah rest in peace Xo

I worked with Peter for a number of years as he home-schooled a number of students.
Peter

It is so difficult to find one story to share about Peter. There are so many. He has done so much for so many. When I was working in Jamaica, he organized a trip to come visit me. Even more amazing is that he was willing to travel with a group of teenagers, one being my sister. We had a wonderful time and it was such a great experience for those young people. He took a keen interest in our children and they all remember him with great fondness. Peter never truly realized the positive impact he had on the people around him. Our lives have been greatly enriched by having known him.

Teacher Extrordinaire

Peter was a person that could convince you that you could do just about anything and yet recognize a person's strengths and weaknesses.

He definitely loved a joke and could carry it to great lengths.

Peter was the reason I joined the choir at Asbury and persevered. We sang at a few churches in the area. That was a big stretch for someone like myself who at one time was too self-conscious to even sing in the shower.

He certainly made a difference in my life and from what I understand in the lives of many others.

What a remarkable man!

I just heard that Peter passed. We had lost contact over the years, but I have so many memories of Peter from my teens--Stittsville Camp and Echo Lake. He was a good friend, and always made me laugh. So unpretentious and loyal. I missed not having him in my life when I moved away. May he rejoice in the presence of the Savior is my prayer.

Wonderful years spent with Peter

I shared many years in the choir at Asbury with Peter. He was for the most part jovial and made being part of the choir a lot of fun. He became a true confidant and support as I raised Ryan. The summers at Wesley Acres camp were of the most memorable. We also taught together in Perth after he retired from his full time teaching position. God bless You Mark and Millie, Paul and all his beloved nephews; as you know in your heart of hearts that he is with God.
