I am sad for your loss and for mine. But, I am also feel very blessed to have had Uncle Leon in my life. Growing up he was such a positive influence in my life many, many times. He always had happy and positive things to say to me and big warm hugs. He believed in my creative talents and encouraged me in my pursuit to become a Graphic Designer and was my first client. That logo (TFI) is still the best logo I have ever designed.
Aunt Faye, Shawn and Crystal, I really wish I could be there for his services and give you hugs. I love you all! Robin xo

The big crazy fish that got away!

I will never forget how terrified and mortified and ticked I was with my Uncle Leon and brother Kerry Paul... but what an awesome memory! Uncle Leon took Kerry and I out in a dory to fish off of Tancook Island, Nova Scotia on summer in the 60's. I was quite young. I think it was the first trip of two that Nanny and Poppy sent us to visit for the summer on the island.

We were Jigger fishing (now, please forgive me if I get some of the details wrong as remember... I was quite young). And being so young, I didn't have a clue as to what I was doing, but at the time and being 'the girl' I was determined to be like the big boys! LOL! Well.... my line was ALL gone... yup... I let it all go! I kept feeling a tug and was excited. I told my Uncle, but he ignored me... I think he figured I was just making it up. Well, I don't remember how many times I told him... but it was many. Well, it was time to go home and they finally helped me pull my line up and sure enough there was a huge (well huge to little me) fish on it. My Uncle howled and grabbed the fish and started rubbing its belly! I was freaking out! #1 - this thing was the scariest creature I had ever seen! It had spines all over and huge lips. #2 I thought my Uncle was being attached! #3 It was making the weirdest, loudest sucking sound. It was a frenzy of activity. Then, all of a sudden, my Uncle whipped this big crazy looking creature out onto the water! This fish was FLOATING on the surface! Well, I almost lost it with confusion. Finally Uncle Leon confessed that it was a puffer fish and that it would now float on the water until the seagulls come to eat it. WELL! I was even more mortified! I demanded that he save it. All the while he and my brother are busting a gut laughing at me and I was so mad because they didn't believe me when I said I had a bite on my line. BUT, I was now more upset that this fish was going to be eaten by the birds... when suddenly it deflated and retreated back to the ocean floor.

What an experience. What a memory. Uncle Leon, you were very dear to me and such a positive influence in my growing up, you and Aunt Faye. So many loving and fun memories. I wish I had seen more of you since I moved away. I will miss you even more now. I pray I will fish with you in heaven some day xo

PS... please make sure the cows know enough not to step on my foot because I didn't know enough to stay clear of their hooves ;)
