We are saddened to learn of the passing of Rob. Having known Rob since his arrival in Perth, he always had a kind word to say and showed true genuineness in our lives even though our paths had gone in different directions. He was a fine man. We are grateful to have known Rob and wish to extend our heartfelt thoughts to family and friends.

Rob & Sherry
I remember in the sixties, the many times that Rob would come down the lake to visit us in Wentworth Bay. He came to see my brother Doug, and they would happily zoom off in their boats to see the rest of their Bark Lake crowd. Being the younger brother of Doug, I always wanted to know what was up with the big guys on the lake. My memories of his visits are so clear, and he would almost always have Sherry with him - Sherry was a big black standard poodle, wonderful dog. Rob would always stay a while and chat. I always thought - what a nice guy.

Bark Lake Memories
<p>
So sad to hear the news and a wonderful tribute to a man that I knew only as a boy. The carefree summer days we spent at Bark Lake seem not that far in the distant past and, often, some of my finest memories. I am not surprised to hear that Rob carried his love of nature and outdoor living throughout his life. He was a popular member of ‘the gang’ that hung out together, day and night, enjoying the endless activities the Lake had to offer, and socializing. Oh yes, the regattas, swim parties, boathouse parties and just plain hanging at the Landing shooting the breeze on the deck until we got kicked off by Elsie Millar; and then some more down on the wharf. It seemed endless, but then it was over. I spoke to Rob just two short weeks before his death after 50 years. He called to apologize for something I couldn’t remember, but I am glad he did. Rest in Peace, Rob and condolences to all your family.</p>

Bark Lake memories
<p>
Rob and I knew each other from an early age, roughly about eight years of age. We happily spent our summers at Bark Lake, boating swimming, water skiing and hanging out with our friends. I am shocked with this news, and I send my sincere condolences to Sue, Will, and Beth. </p>

Bark Lake Memories

Rob and I grew up enjoying our summers with our friends at Bark Lake. Several years ago we reconnected via email and he came by to introduce me to Sue and Will. Rob wrote to me of his love of his family, his dogs, his exciting travel adventures and recently sent pictures of his exquisitely refurbished boat. The lad I knew grew up to be an interesting, accomplished and beautiful man.</p>
