Dear Ruth,
It is with extreme sadness that we write to you. For you to lose your only daughter is, indeed, a tragedy. Not only that, but you yourself are just recovering from a nasty operation.
We send you our deep felt sympathy and hope that your children, and grand-children, will afford you much comfort at this time of mourning. You will know and take strength from the fact that Alison was much loved.
Our love and prayers
Valerie and Geoff

My deepest sympathies to all of Alison's family. I had the privilege of knowing Alison for several years and working with her as Reading Recovery Teacher Leader for the past 5 years. Her passion for teaching and her intense advocacy for children were an inspiration. I will treasure my memories of Alison's keen interest in learning, her inquiring mind, and her tireless efforts to share her knowledge with others. Alison's warmth and sense of humour - as well as her flair for fashion - enhanced every gathering. She will be greatly missed.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. It made me very sad to learn of Ms. Craig's passing. I met her enrolling my sons in school and she was so kind and helpful and had a great sense of humour. She was also a great cheerleader for my oldest - encouraging him with his reading. She touched many young lives and gave them a great gift - she will be missed by many.

I wanted to pass my condolences on to Ruth and Eric, and the rest of the family. I was surprised to see Alison's obituary in the paper today. I know that this must be very hard for all of you but I know that there are many good memories to carry you through the next little while. While it is always sad to lose a loved one, I know that this is only a temporary separation and that in time you will all be together again. I know that sounds trite but I truly believe it and I hope that you also have that same faith. I will say the prayer for the dead tonight with my wife in memory of Alison.

To the dear family of Alison --
I knew Alison when we were students together at Queen's -- we lived on the same floor at Victoria Hall, then shared a house in my final year (1974). I just found out today about her illness and passing when reading the Queen's Review, and am deeply saddened by your loss. Alison was a tremendous person - fun, creative, engaging, loyal, and always interested in life and the larger world around her. I am sure she made life wonderful for you, and that she will be deeply, deeply missed. Please accept my belated condolences as you move through this difficult time. Yours sincerely, Jennifer (Purdy )Palmer.

Dear Johanna, Owen and Eric,
I only just now heard of the passing of Alison. Alison taught my daughter Sarah and Eric tutored my son Stuart. We are from New Jersey and stayed in Perth for two years. Alison was very special to us. She, Johanna, and Owen stayed at our home briefly while traveling the US. I cannot express the shock and sadness of hearing of her early death.
We stayed at your grandfather's cottage for a brief holiday one summer. It was an awesome holiday. We loved the cottage.
What happened to Alison to cause such an untimely death?
Affectionately Yours,
Deborah Michalsky

Our thoughts have been with Allison and her family during the last nine months. Allison showed a genuine interest in her fellow human beings and her company was always interesting and rewarding. Our thoughts are with the famility as they bid their farewells to her. We are very sorry not to be able to attend the funeral service.
