Obituary of Robert Joseph Killeen

Killeen, Robert J. In hospital in Kingston, on Friday, June 27th, 2008, following a brave week long fight to recover and return to his 'Girls' Robert Joseph Killeen at the age of 45; passed peacefully to join his parents Ed and Irene Killeen and his father-in-law Charlie Kerr (we think that he and Dad finally got their golf game). Rob was a dearly loved and cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Mourning his passing, but richer and greatly blessed for having known him are his wife Marie and his daughter Stephanie. He was a dear Grandpa to his beloved "Miss Charlotte". His last moments with her were a kiss, a hug and the words "you know your Grandpa loves you", before he left for work. Loved brother of Maidi (Wayne) McGarvey of Perth, Don of Kentucky, Brian (Alison) of Victoria, B.C., Joanne of Vancouver, Jim (Shelley) Lantzville, B.C., Lori of Edmonton, Michael of Carleton Place; nephew of Gerald and Jean Killeen of Edmonton and Raymond and Eileen Killeen of Red Deer, Alberta. Rob was a much loved and respected son-in-law of Carmel Kerr, brother-in-law of Kevin and Vanessa Kerr of Perth, Florence and Tom Gorham of Mississauga, Floyd and Susan Kerr of Kitchener, Keith and Margaret Kerr of Perth, Paul Kerr and Fernanda of Perth, Janet and Leonard Bernicky of Smiths Falls. Special 'dad' to Vanessa and Braiden and Amanda and Brittany. A kind and loving man whose life embodied generosity. Rob was and organ donor. His last act was to give his eyes so that others might see. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth on Monday, June 30th, 2008 from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Bridget's Church, Stanleyville on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. The interment will be held in St. Bridget's Cemetery followed by a reception in the Perth Civitan Hall. In remembrance, contributions to C.H.E.O., Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
