All Saints Eve
I was just telling someone the story of the All Saints Eve party at St. Mary's likely 15 years ago when Steve showed up with a rock and blood attached to his forehead and Vince with a sling shot in his pocket. Their outfits were also awesome - they were a perfect David and Goliath. Steve was always up for fun.

Matchmaker
I was and still am one of the Upper Scotch Line Kids. As neighbours we all played together and as we got older we worked together! There wasn't one kid on the road who didn't work at Patterson's Restaurant. A fun carefree time. We did all have our times where we got into trouble but it was always Bobby's fault! Haha. I will always be thankful to Stephen for introducing me to his friend Dave Young. The two would be around the house when I was home and sometimes would throw stones at my window at night to get my attention. The only attention they got was from my Dad who sent off a couple shots from his shot gun! It scared them off that night but Dave never gave up trying to get my attention! It all worked out in the end...I married this man and 26 years later am still head over heels for him.
Stephen was very instrumental that this unfolded the way it did and Dave and I will be forever grateful. May you find peace and comfort in the arms of Jesus. Please tell Mom and Dad we all miss them. God bless you Stephen

Always had a great story!

I got to know Steve through NET ministries in 1986-87 year. He always had the best stories to tell of his time on the road with NET. When Fr. Sean Wenger was ordained, I was blessed to travel to Ottawa. We gathered in Steve's basement apartment and story telling ensued. One story was about running into a closed plexy glass door while a host family member looked on. Another happened at a host home in which either he or his teammate couldn't get the tub faucet to turn off in an upstairs bathroom. Water began to come down upon the host mom through the kitchen light down below. We laughed and laughed. It was such a joy to have NETTERs together again. I have fond memories of Steve and will pray for all grieve his passing. Peace. </p>
